Misson Statement

In alignment with our Christian values, the mission of EPIC (Explore,

Propel, Inspire, Create) is rooted in Philippians 4:13. We aim to foster a

homeschool co-op community where families are united in faith, dedicated to

supporting one another in their educational journey. Grounded in the strength

bestowed upon us by Christ, our mission is to inspire a love for learning,

promote academic excellence, and create an environment where the pursuit of

knowledge is intertwined with spiritual growth. As a community, we strive to

embody Christian virtues, encourage fellowship, and glorify God through our

shared commitment to education and each other.

FAQ

Is this a drop off co-op?

Currently, EPIC is not a drop-off program as we work together to establish and enhance our co-op experience. As we look ahead, our vision includes offering a drop-off option for our older students, providing more flexibility for families. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to grow and shape the future of EPIC!

What does a co-op day look like?

During a co-op day at EPIC, families gather for a shared lunch experience at 12:00. It’s important to note that each family is responsible for bringing their own lunch to enjoy in this communal mealtime. Following lunch, we immerse ourselves in two class hours exploring various subjects.

As the day unfolds, we end with a collaborative effort to tidy up the facility, believing in the adage “heavy hands make light work.” Looking ahead, as we continue to grow, we envision expanding both our class offerings and hours to enhance the EPIC co-op experience for everyone.

Do you have teens?

Yes, at EPIC, we have a heart for teens. Recognizing the challenges families often face when homeschooling through the teen years-such as limited resources and social opportunities- we aim to provide support. Our goal is to assist parents by offering challenging classes that address the unique needs of teenagers, preparing them for graduation, life beyond high school, and potential college endeavors. Your teen’s educational journey matters to us, and we’re here to make it both enriching and fulfilling.

What if I don’t want to teach?

We understand that teaching can be intimidating for some. At EPIC, we encourage those who may feel uncertain to pair up with a more experienced teacher initially. This supportive approach allows individuals to learn the ropes and gain confidence gradually.

We do ask that everyone contribute by teaching a class of their choice at some point, ensuring a diverse and vibrant co-op community. You can start with something small that you feel confident in and gradually branch out. As a co-op, our success depends on the active involvement of parents as teachers. Your willingness to participate greatly contributes to the thriving and dynamic nature of our community.

How much does it cost to be a part of this co-op?

The cost of co-op at EPIC includes a family membership fee of $50 per family. For students in grades nursery through 6th grade, there is an additional $10 per child. Jr. High and High school fees vary based on the classes chosen, and these costs are subject to fluctuation as we establish ourselves and refine our understanding of overhead costs for our group’s size. Your understanding and support are crucial as we work to ensure the sustainability and growth of our co-op community.

Do I have to sign a statement of faith?

No, signing a statement of faith is not a requirement. However, we kindly ask families to respect the co-op statement of faith and commit to upholding it’s standards. While we strive to be accepting, it’s important to note that the co-op is founded on biblical principles. Families should understand our commitment to raising children with a biblical worldview and refrain from teaching anything that contradicts these principles. Your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a harmonious and faith-based co-op community are greatly appreciated.

What are fees used for?

Fees at EPIC serve various essential purposes. Family membership fees contribute to covering expenses such as insurance, building rent, website fees, background checks, and overall overhead costs. On the other hand, student fees go directly to classroom materials and the cost of curriculum. It’s important to note that EPIC operates with transparency, and none of the fees are used for profit. Your contributions directly support the functioning and enrichment of our co-op community. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to EPIC!
